OLYMPION CINEMA THEATRE
For the greater region of Kastoria city, Olympion is not only a cinema theatre but a landmark of great historic and cultural significance. In order to reintroduce it as the new hotspot of cultural happenings for theatre and movie aficionados, a holistic renovation needed to take place.
The architectural conception draws heavy influences from iconic cinematic elements (such as the film roll) in an effort to merge classic and contemporary design forms, highlighted by their multi-functionality.
This approach is in direct conversation with the architectural lighting design which balances the aesthetic variations and the spaces’ functional requirements.
The challenge:
cultural space | landmark | cinema theatre
RL approach:
semiotik architecture | refinement | pluralism
