AEGLI HOTEL
One of the most historic and oldest hotels in the city of Volos, Aegli Hotel, is now housed in two adjacent listed buildings, that champion Art Nouveau within the city’s coastal zone.
A coherent aesthetic -despite the clashing architectural and morphological characteristics- runs through the coalescence of the two buildings, and was the main design challenge of the project.
The impressive vestibule, the hollow cut of the corner building and the introduction of modern architectural elements to neoclassical buildings, were the cornerstones of the design study.
The architectural lighting study we conducted, defined the end result which delivered a hotel space that respects and highlights the unique characteristics of its historical buildings, without compromising a modern and intimate environment for the visitors.
